Updated Yoga Information

Deb and Angie have asked Sarah Stowers to substitute teach the yoga classes in the Park.

Sarah moved here recently from Michigan and has been teaching yoga for one year, but has been practicing for 9 years.

Sarah has a few extra mats, will bring them to each class. Everything will be the same as when Deb and Angie teach.

Yoga is on Tuesday morning at 9:00am and Thursdays at 5:00pm in the McKennan Park sunken gardens unless the weather is unbearable. If it rains or is freezing, please come to Sarah's house at 412 E 21st St, right across from the McKennan Park tennis courts. This will work only until her living room furniture arrives! And she can only fit 10 students in the space.

Hope to see you at yoga.

Clubhouse Clean-up - September 29

Saturday, September 29 is "Make a Difference Day." We will be at the Woman's Club all day but thanks to Nancy Dickinson's suggestion that we call Augustana College we will have an afternoon of additional volunteer help. It sounds like we can expect some strong people to spend the afternoon doing whatever we need. And Monica Heuther has secured a free dumpster.

We will get more details this week but if you are able to help, plan to participate, and bring friends anytime between 9 am and 5 pm.

We will need some serious refreshments, if you are interested in helping to organize some food and drinks let Carolyn Sprague know.

We will need hammers, scrapers, crowbars, chisels (powered if anyone has one), picks, spades, shovels, garbage bags, spray bottles, and anything else you think might be helpful. Masks will be provided for those working indoors.

Tea Society - Sunday, September 16

A beautiful afternoon of tea, desserts and conversation was held at Donna Dexter's home on Sunday, September 16.

Donna opened her charming home to women who are interested in joining the Tea Society. Donna served two types of tea, lovely tortes, and delicious trifles. The group will keep careful notes and document what was served in hopes of compiling a cookbook at the end of the year filled with delicious recipes.

It was decided that there will be four meetings annually. Hopefully, the January event will be held in the Woman's History club building using the beautiful silver tea service.

Donna informed the group of her study of the art and history of tea. Next meeting she plans to show a slide show and go over the details of this and give the group an understanding of the influence this beverage has had on the world.

Anyone is invited to join or attend future events.
